December Daily 12-15
This week slapped me around a little bit. I had to catch up on 12-15 today when I had some time.
I'm looking forward to no school, homework, tests, etc.

December 8 & 9
I got sick yesterday and didn't take any pictures so I just made a page of our Christmas music playlist. I thought that might be a fun memory to look back on :)

December 1st and 2nd
December is HERE! Deep breath...
I'm so excited to do another December Daily album this year! My plan to do an 8x8 size has changed. I discovered a new size that is going to be a game changer for me...
5.5 x 8.5
These pages are 8.5x11 and then they will be cut in half. You can purchase the mini binders and page protectors for this size at Staples. The binder is not the cutest thing on the planet however it's really sturdy and that's just what I need. We'll make a cute cover page for it, I think it'll work out great.
Congrats is in order for Paigeykinnykinkins
She won 1st place in the Poetry contest for 4th grade this year!
Sorry the video is a little shaky...Braden said he will do better next time :)

our Thanksgiving
Don't you just love Thanksgiving?! My parents came down this year and we had a great Thanksgiving. I brought my camera to take pictures and it didn't have a card. The kids took my backup camera out of my purse so I had to take these pics with Aaron's phone.
The Thanksgiving feast, complete with my favorite...Frog Eye Salad!
the table
the turkey. I bought it from Trader Joe's this year. It was really good!
Mom, Dad and kids
We played games and watched Captain America. My parents bought a 3-D tv and we wanted to try it out...it was really cool.
And the Frog Eye Salad was delicious!

a Smashing good time
I am so loving the Smash book! It's all about throwing stuff in and just having fun. I bought Paige the pink one (I think it's called Pretty) and we've been having a blast together.
I have a box of keepsakes and random things and now I have a place for them
I apologize for that the pics are not right side up...I don't know why they aren't cooperating and I'm too lazy to fix it :)
So is anyone else Smashing?! I'd love to hear about it :)

truly one of "My Favorite Things"
"My Favorite Things" is hands down one of my favorite songs. It makes me happy every time I hear it.
Julie Andrews...is she not the greatest?!

a great start to my day
Yesterday morning, I went in and woke Heston up. He walked over to me, gave me a big hug and said,
"How's my sweetheart?"
Awww...that's the good stuff :)

Can vs. Can't
This is a great one! It reminds me of this quote:
"Think you can, think you can't;
either way, you'll be right.

December Daily 2011
It's that time again!! December is just around the corner, can you believe it?! I decided last year to take the plunge and complete a December Daily album for our family. I've kept it out all year and the kids love looking through it. It's amazing how fast time flies by and I just want to capture these memories for the kids.
There are so many ways you can go about it. My motto is simple and digital. This was the finished product from last year.
Thanks again AJ for binding my book :)
Thanks again AJ for binding my book :)
It's a 6x8 album. I put 4 pages onto a 12x18 document and printed those at Costco. Chipboard for the front and back covers. I used some Christmas paper I had to cover them. This front cover I scrapbooked and printed from home on cardstock.
I think I took a picture of this last year. This envelope holds loose keepsakes from the month.
This is one of the pages. Costco wasn't doing me any favors the day they printed my pages. They turned out darker than I would have liked. I'm going to print my pages this year from Persnickety Prints. They printed my Disneyland pages and they did an awesome job!
I've decided to do an 8x8 album this year, I'll share some pages with you along the way.

In Flanders Fields
by
John McCrae
In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.
We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.
Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.

Halloween 2011
A little Halloween page of the kids in their costumes. Braden wanted nothing to do with Halloween until 6 pm that night...what's up with that?!
I'm not a huge fan of Halloween on a school night, I'm sure every parent feels the same way. The kids at school were still on their sugar highs the next day, climbing the walls. Poor teachers...
Mom and Dad send the kids Halloween goodies each year. This year they sent $10 gift cards to Dollar Tree. Let me just say, my kids had SO much fun! It was like a mini shopping spree.
This is Paige with her goodies. Her lovely hair headband is my favorite :)
that's a mini Martinelli's and the air horn is long gone...
12 year olds...they keep you on your toes :)

Grand Canyon 2.0
We didn't get enough of this place 5 weeks ago so we decided to go back! This trip back to the canyon was about some "unfinished business". While we hiked rim to rim 5 weeks ago, Aaron was going to hike from the north rim to the south rim back to the north. (42 miles of insanity that I in no way, shape or form want to experience) He didn't get enough sleep last time and didn't finish. My sister-in-law Ricci called him 2 days after our hike and said, "Let's go back next month and do rim to rim to rim!"
I dropped them off on the south side at 4 am and they made it back out at 9 pm. 17 hours! Just plain awesome!
While they were hiking, the kids and I did the tourist stuff
we saw lots of elk...
Can you see that patch of green trees? That's Phantom Ranch at the bottom
An nyoung ha seh yo to my Korean peeps! I swear half of South Korea was there on Saturday and my translater was down in the canyon...
us minus Braden...
What happened to the days when you let me take your picture without the attitude?!
Hes and his coyote Randall (named after Randall from Monsters Inc...kids are funny!)
Paigey
P&H did the Jr. Ranger program that day. They are getting sworn in...
The wingspan of a California Condor
Heston took a little nap during the movie
Official Jr. Rangers!
all 3 kids!!
We were walking out of our hotel and I'm telling Heston to keep walking and he says, "Um no Mom". I look up and this elk is standing right in front of us!
