A Week in the Life revisited

I did a Week in the Life album where I took pictures and wrote down everything that was going on in our lives at that time. I thought it would be fun to do a Week in the life album again during the same week 5 years later.

I can't believe how much the kids have grown!

Motherhood

It's officially Fall and it's pretty crazy around here. A good crazy, with lots of activities, sports, school, work and just good stuff. I'm constantly reminded how humbling motherhood is. I found this quote on Pinterest and I really love it. We're all trying to do the best we can and all of our situations are unique. I feel it's so important that we as women work to uplift each other as we navigate through motherhood instead of judging and tearing each other down. 

I need to do a better job of telling my friends what awesome Moms they are and what great examples they are to me...

bad day

I've had a bad day today. 

One of those days where I either want to curl up into the fetal position in my closet or eat my weight in cookie dough. 

Got to take the good with the bad, right?

back to life, back to reality...

Just typed the title to this post and now I have to include the song because I can't get it out of my head :)

I still love this song! I've already accepted the fact that when I'm an old lady, I will listen to and talk about the "classic music of the 90s" :)

We are back from our month long vacation in Utah. It's always great to catch up with family and friends! I love Arizona but I am a Utah girl at heart. Braden starts high school tomorrow and we need to get him a few more things. The kids and I go back on Monday. Our new campus isn't quite ready so our start date was pushed back a few days. Lots of exciting changes this year...should be a fun year!

This school year has been a learning experience. Working full time has been great but at the same time trying to juggle the kids and their schedules + working full time has been crazy. After a lot of thought, I made the decision to go back to working 4-5 hours a day. I'm leaving the front office and going back to being a playground aide at the school, a job that I really love and miss. I'm going back to having a little more balance in my life and I'm extremely grateful that I have a choice. I'm choosing to focus on my family for now...they are what matter most :)

 Aaron has been gone to China for business. It was so nice to have a visit from Mom and Dad. We had a great time and they loved the awesome weather. Mom's birthday was on the 19th so we got her a Nothing Bundt cake. It was so good!

 I got to be a chaperone for the 5th Grade field trip. We went to Local Motors and the kids got to learn about cars. It was really fun, the kids loved it.

 Each group got to design a car. I think this was their favorite part

 After Local Motors, we found a park to eat lunch. I'm glad I got the day off so I could go :)

2012 Year in Review

I had some time the other day so I just chose a few of my favorite pictures from each month and put them into the templates. I don't know what I would do without templates...

It's hard to believe 2012 is over, it went by so fast!

It's official! Fall Break is here!

9 glorious days of enjoying my family, working on some projects and being lazy!

I've got a quilt to tie, blinds and windows to clean and lots of TV I want to watch! (Don't you just love DVR?) Speaking of TV, Duck Dynasty is one of my new favorites. My co-worker got me hooked on this show...it's nice to know there's someone else at the school that has a little redneck in them :) I'm also loving "Once Upon a Time" and "Downton Abbey". I'm also so excited for new "Arrested Development" episodes. From Project Runway to Duck Dynasty...I'm all over the map :)

 We are kicking off our Fall Break with a yard sale Paige is putting together. She needs to earn $25 more dollars for the tablet she's been saving up for. I donated some old scrapbook stuff for her to sell and she's also selling candy bars and lemonade. I hope it's successful for her. We don't have a lot of kids on our street so the neighbors are always generous to support our kids.

I'm the most excited to spend time with the kids. Seems like we are always on the go these days and just getting some time to focus on them is just what I need :)

 

Tuesday=epic fail

I had a day that slapped me around and made me want to crawl into the fetal position and cry...

Do you ever have days like that?!

First Day of School

August 8th 2012

First Day of School!

We have an 8th, 5th and 1st grader

and a working mom who is trying to keep the train on the tracks :)

 Damn! It's hard and frustrating but it'll get better.

It was 113 degrees today and it's supposed to get up to 115 the next 2 days. The kids were stuck inside at school...I'm ready for winter :)

Our fridge died about 4 days ago. We had it repaired a few months ago and didn't want to put any more money into it. So we've been living out of a cooler until they could deliver our new one today. 

Needless to say I am very happy :)
