I {heart} the '90s!!

A friend on Facebook posted this link
48 pictures that perfectly capture the '90s
Awesome, right?!
The '90s were good times! After looking at those pictures, this one came to mind.
Me and my roommates our freshman year circa 1993. You can't see but I had black Doc Martin boots to go with this look...

and this?! This is just one hot mess... ;)

a day at the carnival

We took the kids to a carnival in Gilbert this weekend. In the picture with Aaron and the kids, you'll notice how "excited" Paige was that Heston beat her at a water gun game :)

back to the 80's!

The theme for this years Family Fun Night at the school was "Back to the 80s"! I forget what an awesome era it was...we had so much fun! I found a Galaga t-shirt for B and a Thriller era MJ t-shirt for P that she really wanted. I also wanted an MJ shirt but I wore my beloved Jets t-shirt from 1988. My uncle Kelly (we are 9 years apart, he's more of an older brother to me) went to their concert and bought it for me. I'm also wearing my charm necklace from 1985. I should have been prepared and bought some AquaNet so that I could make our hair BIG! Paige was not having it though :)

I had a blast dancing to 80's music and being silly with the kids.

Now we need to have a back to the 90's night...I've got a killer southwestern MC Hammer get-up that I rocked in 1991 that would be the envy of everyone! :)

You deserve chocolate!

I purchased 10, yes 10 bags of Cadbury Mini eggs the other day. I mean seriously, who does not LOVE the mini eggs?!
For almost 2 years, I've been on the PTA (our school calls it FPAC) at the school. I'm over Teacher and Staff Appreciation. It's a lot of work however it's been so much fun to do things for the teachers and staff during the year.
I've learned that you can put almost anything in a treat bag, tie it with some ribbon, attach a super cheesy saying, and the teachers just love it. (they really don't get enough praise for what they do for our kids)
I had to get those mini eggs out of my house ASAP! :)

a mom's business card

As I was cleaning my room today, I found this ad that I tore out of a magazine a few years ago...isn't this the truth?! I want to get some of these made and whip them out when someone asks me what I do...

Iceblocking

The kids were out of school on Friday so we got together with Tara, Austin and Mason for some lunch and a little Iceblocking. Tara and I are always trying to come up with things to do with the kids and they had fun.
I just learned this weekend that they will be moving this summer :(
Braden and Austin became best friends in 1st grade. Tara and I hit it off right away and she is one of my closest friends. I'm going to miss her!!! I'm so sad to see them go but I'm excited for them and their new journey.
(I'm trying to be positive but it bums me out!)

little notes

Hallmark stores exist because of people like me. I'm a sucker for cute little quote books, funny cards and collectable ornaments. I think I mentioned in a post about working at the Hallmark store my aunt Dolly managed when I was younger. I helped wrap gifts, dust collectables, restock cards and of course, dress up as the Crayola Bunny at Easter because I'm the only one who would do it.
There's a Hallmark store on Baseline and Stapley that's one of my favorites. They have a contract US Post Office inside. (much more fun and colorful than your usual post office) The women that work there are great, they know me and Heston...I swear I usually go in to just mail packages. ;)

I went there today to "mail a package". and I came across these gems:

I occasionally put little notes inside the kids' lunches. Each time I've done it, my kids have loved it. Like most moms, some mornings are just crazy and I'm lucky to get a sandwich made. I'm reminded how fast my kids are growing up and I can never tell them that I love and appreciate them enough. Any little thing I can do to make their day a little better, I'll do it :)

So there you go...awesome finds at the Hallmark store. I'm excited to see what the kids say...

Love is Entirety

Aaron got back on Wednesday after being in Taiwan on business. He was gone 9 loooonnngg days...those longs trips are hard for me! He brought the kids some DVDs (that haven't been released yet and they were only 50 cents a piece!) and usually he brings back a t-shirt for the kids. On his last trip, he brought back this Hello Kitty shirt for P. In honor of Valentine's Day, I wanted to post it because it cracks us up everytime she wears it. The translation from Chinese to English didn't go over so well...
Happy Valentine's Day!
The top picture is her inviting you to the "gun show" I don't know where she comes up with this stuff...
